Project description:

A country as rich in ancient wisdom, culture, history, and biodiversity as Peru is expected to tell incredible stories. And the Peru Pavilion does exactly that. Undeniably one of the more distinctive and eye-catching pavilions at Expo 2020, the Peru Pavilion stands stark along the skyline like a bright red weave embedded with patterns and symbols as old as time. These symbols are woven throughout the entire exhibition journey to tell the “Timeless Peru” story.

The pavilion offers a complete immersive experience for visitors to connect to a more enlightened and purposefully created future. It uses a blend of audiovisual projections and various screen formats to convey different scenes and fascinating stories. Interactive tables provide more focused information, and product displays represent the country’s gastronomic ingredients and superfoods, as well as raw and manufactured products. All these elements are strung together and complemented by scenography that replicates the country’s environment, giving texture and depth to the narrative.

In the Cradle of Food Zone, guests learn why Peru is dubbed “The World’s Superfood Pantry.” Four focal points, each dedicated to a specific Peruvian dish, feature videos displaying renowned Peruvian chefs cooking up the recipes and talking about the uniquely Peruvian ingredients and their historical relevance. Meanwhile, in the Creativity Zone, the authentic warmth and soul of the Peruvian people are on display. Visitors are drawn in by the colors and organic beauty of items on display, featuring the talent and ingenuity of the country and its creators. Here, guests visit five stations where they encounter authentic expressions of Peru’s ancestral wisdom and values, all with great consideration for the environment. Painted glass, embroidery, high-fashion fibers, pottery, and jewelry is all showcased alongside videos of featured craftsmen.
